Colts D Football v Brambletye – Won 3-1

On the back of an opening day victory two weeks ago the same squad assembled to take on their Brambletye counterparts.

The boys started well applying early pressure but the use of the offside in the first half confused the boys as they were twice pulled up whilst one on one with the goal keeper. So it was with great joy that we took the lead through Nabil who slotted home from close range and some tidy interplay between Andre and Joseph S. A further goal was scored by Fred (although I did miss it he explained that it was a simple goal, although by the time we got back to school he said that he had beaten three defenders weaving in and out like they were cones)  So a solid 2 – lead at half time and a quick  word with the referee and the offside rule was scrapped for the remainder of the game. The back two of Will F and Daniel G stood  firm at the start of the second half assisted by Tom G who was always willing to dive at the feet of the attackers. Some great work by Nabil set up  the energetic Robbie for the third and despite a consolation goal against us we held on for our second victory in 2 games.

Well played boys. Next week Pennthorpe so it is not getting any easier.

Team: Tom G, Fred (Capt), Will, Joseph S, Nabil, Robbie, Daniel, Andre
