Colts ‘D’ Football v Pennthorpe

21st September 2016

Having just seen the C’s put in a great performance the D’s were keen to follow suit in their first match of the season. This match did not disappoint as both teams tried to express themselves. I felt however that we just had that extra bit of quality that would pay dividends in the end as so it proved as Henri riffled in the first from outside the box and then Finlay added a second. Pennthorpe managed to get a deserved goal before Henri once again found the back of the net. Credit to Pennthorpe as they continued to put pressure on the boys and claimed another goal with a well worked move. The game was in the balance but up stepped Finlay to score his second then he claimed his third after some some unselfish work from Alex. We ran out deserved 5-2 winners in the end. I was impressed with Rian’s composure at the back, the way Elias adapted to a new position, the tenacity of Ruari and William’s commitment in goal.

Team. William, Ronnie, Elise, Ruari, Alex, Henri, Finlay

Well Done to all the boys who took part today and thanks to all the parents who came to support and to Mr B who helped on the sideline.
