2nd XI Football v St Aubyns – Won 4-1

After the disappointment of last week this was a real confidence booster for the side. All the boys worked really hard in training and some of the work done really paid off.

There was a good link down the right with George, Luca and Inder playing really well together. The left will take a little longer but no lack of effort here either.   Elliot was a tower of strength at the back with Ryan barking orders from the goal. Jack and Ross were solid and no nonsense at the back and Oliver is getting accustomed to his role in mid-field.

Up front we still need to be more positive and have a go, even with the left foot! Josh slotted 2 first half goals to put us in control with a boomer from Elliot putting us 3 – 1 up at half time.

In the second half numerous chances came and went with Josh, Alex, George and Ollie all going close but the only addition to the score was a blistering penalty from Elliot, if only England could be that good! James was industrious on the left and all in all it was a splendid performance and far more enjoyable than the week before.

There is no doubt that St Aubyns was a weaker side than our previous opponents but they still had to be beaten. We will need to be more ruthless in front against the stronger teams if we are to continue this success. Well done boys and thanks to the parents who attended.  JC
