Copthorne U9B vs Lancing Prep

6th October 2017

It was a beautiful afternoon for football and with quite the crowd in attendance, the boys were raring to go, super excited for the kick off. Right from the first whistle, the boys performance was beyond outstanding!

Marcus was our first half shot stopper and he played exceedingly well, stopping all but one goal in the first half-A very good first half opener from Lancing. His spirits weren’t dampened in the slightest and this was the case or the whole team, who burst forward really well. Meet was strong at the back in defence along with Yuki who did well in his distribution out from the back and made lovely tackles.

John H played the game of his life in the striker role and made Messi-like runs going forward! He was terrific! Alexander was a big influence going forward, supporting John in the striker role. We got majority of possession and dominated their half, but we were caught on the counter attack which is what unfortunately lead to the 3 second half goals.

Ted was absolutely outstanding in the midfield and held our attack and defence together in the greatest of times throughout the match. He was the man of the match, and worked magnificently well, bursting forward and tracking back always. He played great football. Overall, the final score line was by no means a reflection on the game as a whole and the boys made all watching, especially me, very proud. Their heart and resilience in the game was phenomenal and should be well noted.

Brilliant game, boys!

Final score: Copthorne 0-4 Lancing
