Girls Hockey vs. Handcross Park

2nd VI won 3-0

Right from the start Copthorne were in control of the game. The girls were eager in getting the ball, not allowing the opposition to settle. With only a few minutes into the first half Connie found herself in the D with all the time in the world and calmly put the ball past the keeper. The second half was much like the first with Copthorne applying most of the pressure. Romy only had to make a few saves and her judgement was spot on when to leave the ball. Defenders Georgia and Tasha cleared any danger fast and used the boards really well. Lister and Charlotte combined well with quick passes resulting in Charlotte scoring two more goals.

1st VI won 8-1

Just as the previous game, the girls tried to take early control of the game. It was a little more challenging for Copthorne as the oppositions defence was tighter. However the girls kept attacking and from this continued pressure Georgia made a run through the middle and scored from just inside the D. This opened the flood gates. With confidence growing it was one attack after another. Subin and Roshni made some excellent tackles and quickly released the ball. The forwards were all over the ball and had many attempts on the goal that went wide. At the end it was a good day, both Georgia and Rebecca scored a hat-trick and Katherine (unlucky not to have scored a lot more) scored two.
