U10 XI v Stoke Brunswick – Won 12-10

Having lost the toss Copthorne opened the innings by batting. There were some good performances and despite Stoke’s fielding being strong the girls managed to get 6½ rounders. Stoke’s batting was not as competent as ours and Copthorne prevented them from scoring more than 4. Our second innings was not as strong and you could really see how weary the girls were. However Copthorne were determined to win and despite some misfielding on our part, the girls held on to their lead. Although our fielding was not as tight as in previous matches Copthorne never gave up and deserved to win. There were some excellent batting performances especially from Isobel, Harriet and Meg. A special mention to Rosie who blocked a ball thus preventing the opposition from scoring.

Well done girls and do get some rest before our next match at Handcross.
