On Wednesday the Senior Girls had their first taste of cricket at Cumnor House. Before heading into a pairs game, the girls split up and had a go at some fielding, batting and bowling drills. Cumnor were very helpful explaining the different techniques and actions of holding the bat and running up to bowl. After a half hour of going through the basics the girls were keen to play.

Each girl had a turn to bowl and keep wicket. There were some interesting bowling actions but the ball always managed to reach the batter. Batting was also an unfamiliar action to our girls, not many 4’s but they did put bat to ball and ran superbly between the wickets.

It was a fantastic afternoon and hopefully a few more keen cricketers out there.
