U10 ‘A’ Hockey v Cottesmore

Copthorne started well with the first centre pass and it looked initially that they were the stronger team. However, Cottesmore picked up their pace and despite some great saves from our goalie Isabelle L, they had scored two goals within the fifth and sixth minutes. Copthorne did not lose their energy, although they struggled to assert themselves on court and as a result their passes were not as accurate as I know they can be. Our forwards were hesitant outside of the D and as a result no goals were scored by our team in the first half.

After a good chat at half-time and a change in strategy Copthorne were determined, Gabi and Charlotte worked hard to bring the ball down to the D. Within two minutes of the restart, Annabelle scored a fabulous goal from a short corner. This was soon followed by another great goal by our Captain Gabi. Both teams were now anxious to score the winning goal and our defenders Amelie, Keira, Ava and Isabelle worked very hard to clear the ball and  to prevent any more goals going in. Unfortunately Cottesmore were able to shoot a great goal within a few minutes of us equalising to make the score 3-2, however our girls were not fazed by this and unbelievably our equalising goal was shot by Gabi in the last couple of seconds in the match to make it 3-3. What a game!

A big thank you to Mrs Toovey for helping us out. Thank you to parents who came to support.

Well done girls.
