U10 ‘A’ Netball v Cottesmore

19th November 2016

It was difficult to choose 8 girls for this match as Year 5 are a very keen and able group. Despite not having played much netball this term the girls have shown this week how skilled and versatile they are already and next term looks very promising indeed.

The match at Cottesmore was a great one to watch and umpire. There were very few footwork faults and the passing was quick and generally accurate. The first quarter was evenly matched however by the second quarter Copthorne stepped up a gear. There was some excellent shooting from Keira, Zara and Annabelle. The defence was strong with Amreet, Ava and Amelie making some great interceptions. Both Gabi and Eva worked hard too in the centre third, feeding the ball to our shooters.

What was so pleasing to see was that the girls worked really hard as a team and the goals scored reflect this. Well done girls and bring on the netball season.

Player of the match as voted by Cottesmore – Amelie
