U10 ‘B’ Hockey v Great Walstead

21st October 2016

Copthorne maintained possession of the ball in the first couple of minutes of the match but both teams were equally matched as Walstead soon were on the attack. After the first five minutes Walstead were given a short corner which fortunately they did not convert. However within minutes of it, an unlucky pass from the D gave the opposition a chance to score. This was soon followed by another just before half time.

After a quick chat Copthorne were ready to turn it around. Their passing was more accurate and after a couple of attempts Zara scored our first. Our defenders Simi, Emi and Amelie worked hard to keep the opposition from scoring with both Simi and Emi making some excellent tackles. Ellie scored our second with several minutes to go. A fabulous goal! However, Walstead were soon on the attack and made another attempt at goal but fortunately it was disallowed as it had been shot outside the D.

Although there are only 6 players at one time in indoor hockey we managed to play 9 girls. They all worked well together and for some it was their first match. Well done Zara, Ellie, Robin, Emi, Simi, Amelie, Sophie, Isabelle and Kirsten.
