U10 Rounders v Brambletye

8th May 2016

Won 21½-12

Brambletye lost the toss and began the innings by batting first. There were some strong batters in their team and despite some great fielding from our girls they scored 6 whole rounders and very few half rounders were given away due to no balls. Although Copthorne managed to get several girls out it was clear that Brambletye was a strong team where batting was concerned.

When it came to our turn to bat Copthorne used the first four good balls to their advantage with some great rounders from Alana, Beth, Emily and Ruby. Most of the girls scored with our new girl Romilly scoring two half rounders. By the second innings the score was 11½ – 8 to us.

Our fielding second time around was much stronger and there were some fantastic catches from Alayna, Alana, Beth and Emily W. Our bowler Mallory kept her cool giving very few no balls. As a result, Brambletye were only able to score a further four rounders.

Brambletye’s fielding was tighter in the second innings and they managed to get 6 of our players out. However our girls were on a mission to each score a rounder and as a result we managed to add 10 more rounders to our score. Well done girls you deserved that win.

Congratulations to Beth who was voted Player of the Match.
