U10 Rounders v Brambletye

Copthorne opened the 1st innings by fielding and they soon discovered that Brambletye’s batting was strong. Although Copthorne adapted well to the pitch being on a slight incline silly mistakes were made thus allowing the opposition to score 8½ rounders. Our batting was strong too with Katie scoring a rounder each time she batted and most of  the girls scoring at least ½ a rounder. By half-time Copthorne were leading by 1½ rounders.

At the start of the second innings Brambletye took advantage of  our careless fielding and managed to score 4 rounders one after another. Although Copthorne tightened it’s fielding Brambletye worked hard to score. There were some fantastic catches from our girls, Georgie, Rebecca and Roselly.  Copthorne began their batting with great determination, with some excellent rounders from Katie, Rebecca and Frosty. Unfortunately the girls pushed too hard to score and in a very exciting last two minutes of the game Copthorne took risks that did not pay off.  Despite losing by one rounder I do think this was a fantastic game as all the girls improved in both batting and fielding. Well done girls.

Best player as voted by Brambletye – Roselly who only lost ½ rounder in her bowling. Fantastic!  Top scorer. Katie Parkinson

Best players: Georgia – who has worked hard to gain a place on the team and gave 100 %,  and Frosty who showed what great potential she has as a batter and fielder. LD
