11 schools were entered into this inaugural U10 Tournament and although bitterly cold the conditions were good.

Our first match was against Brighton & Hove HS (who had beaten us in our first game of the last tournament). The girls were not going to let that happen again. Speed, sharp passing, defending and great shooting won us this first game this time; and we continued to do this in every game in our Group. We won our Group comfortably scoring 23 goals and conceding only 3!

Brambletye were runners-up in their group so we played them in the semi-final. Another convincing win to take us into the Cup Final v Holmewood House.

Independent umpires were called for by HH and sadly, once again, some of the umpiring decisions didn’t go our way and although the game was closely contested we narrowly lost by 2 goals.

The girls, parents and I were bitterly disappointed, as we were by far the best team there today. However, the umpires will make decisions on what they see and the girls have to learn to accept those decisions…that’s sport!

Huge congratulations to the team: Harley (Capt), Biba, Ella, Layla, Martha, Ffion, Lowenna and Tayla; girls you all played brilliantly today and I am very proud of you all!

A big thank you to the parents and grandparents who came to support us today.
