Copthorne used the first centre pass to their advantage and soon we were scoring. There were some great passes from our girls and by the end of the first quarter the score was 5-1. In our second quarter Copthorne missed a couple of opportunities to get the ball down to the D as our passes were not as a accurate as the previous quarter, however both Beth and Alana were able to score two more goals.
In the third quarter our play was not at its best as we gave away two of our centre passes due to breaking and some of the girls were not focused on their footwork and marking. Nevertheless a quick pep talk before the final quarter seemed to do the trick and despite Mrs Dodson, one of the umpires, being a little harsher on our team, Copthorne stormed ahead. Our passing was strong and our marking and interceptions were much better. As a result Copthorne scored a further five goals.
As we were one of the first teams to finish we decided to mix both teams and play a short game. This was very enjoyable for everyone as it allowed all the girls to play purely for fun. Thanks to all the parents who supported us and well done to the girls. LD
