U10A Netball v Cumnor House

1st February 2017

The U10 As were keen to play as this was to be only their second match of the season. Due to the weather our matches were played back to back in the sports hall at Cumnor and it was agreed that the match would be two halves of ten minutes.

With the first centre pass in their pocket Copthorne soon thundered away towards scoring their first goal, which Keira did within the first couple of minutes. Copthorne were strong in both their passes and marking which made it difficult for Cumnor to advance. There were some great interceptions by Amelie, Gabi, Zara and Amreet and our attackers Charlotte, Annabelle and Keira were too quick for their opponents. By half time Copthorne were 5 goals to Cumnor’s 1.

Despite making a couple of changes in positioning, Copthorne still dominated the second half and scored a further 4 goals.

Well done girls – you really worked well together. You are such great team players that it is always a pleasure to watch you play.

Player of the match as voted by Cumnor – Annabelle

Mrs Ds players of the match – Amelie for amazing interceptions and Keira for some fabulous goals.

Thank you to Miss Carter too for umpiring both matches which allowed me to actually watch the games and cheer the girls on.
