Martha won the toss in the game v Hurst this afternoon and Harley started the game with the first centre pass. The first quarter was really well contested in the mid court and there wasn’t much between the teams apart from Biba and Ella converting our chances and Hurst not being so lucky! Martha and Layla were kept busy but they were alert to the incoming attacks and they both rebounded and intercepted well to turnover the ball. As the scoreline shows they both had an excellent game! Lowenna and Ffion worked hard in the wing positions but had to be on their game to compete with their partners … which they both did really well.

Unfortunately with a couple of minutes left to play in the second quarter, Harley turned her ankle and was carried off the court (thank you Mrs Mills!) … we all wish Harley a speedy recovery. After a quick reshuffle and Lowenna stepping into the centre position where she made the interception of the game; but then was blown for footwork (shame!) … the game continued.

During the third quarter positions were changed again with Biba putting on the centre bib and Taylor GS, Ella GA, Martha GD and Layla GK. This combination worked well and a further 7 goals were scored with no reply from Hurst. In the fourth and final quarter the girls really stepped up a gear and it was a real goal fest for Ella scoring 6 further goals and Taylor getting on the score sheet and gaining confidence with 3 goals too.

Well done girls a great team effort this week! Won 25-3

Congratulations to Biba who was voted player of the match by the Hurst girls, and well done Ella for excellent shooting and rebounding today!

Thank you to our supporters for braving the cold!
