U10A Netball v Hurst

12th February 2016

Won 14-1

Is was with some trepidation that Copthorne started the match. Hurst had the first centre pass and it looked initially like our girls were going to struggle to score.

During the first five minutes Copthorne and Hurst went to and fro, neither maintaining possession of the ball for long. However, Copthorne soon scored with a lovely goal from Beth; this was soon followed by two more.

The second quarter was much better as Copthorne got into their stride. There were some great passes between Ruby H, Beth and Emily while Mallory, Ruby O and Alayna intercepted the ball on various occasions. There was also some great teamwork in the D between Alana and Beth. As a result of this tremendous team work and effort Copthorne scored a further 5 goals bringing the score to 8- 1 by half-time.

Copthorne took the first centre pass in the third quarter and again the girls moved well on the court. They were fast paced and accurate however, Hurst worked hard too to keep possession. Hurst were stronger than the score would suggest and they had several attempts at goal.

By the last quarter our girls were still full of energy; those fitness sessions in our lessons are paying off!

So, well done ladies! I am very proud of your general attitude today. You played as a team and displayed some of those Copthorne values that we talked about yesterday. Just remember to keep practising over the holidays as I know all of you are very keen to go to the IAPs Tournament at Roedean.

Have a lovely half-term and well done for a great season so far! Player of match as voted by Hurst was Ruby H.

Mrs D’s player of the match is Beth, for excellent

shooting, the best this term! (those practice sessions with Mrs Cook are certainly paying off.) Well done girls. LD
