U10A Rounders v Great Walstead – Won 15-10½

Another win for the U10s to end the term with! The girls went into bat first and we started off slowly! We were being too nice with our hitting and not hitting the ball hard enough so that we could get to 2nd post to score ½ a rounder. Until Madeleine went into bat and smashed the ball into the space that she saw and scored one rounder. Holly had an unlucky game yesterday being caught out in both her chances to bat even though both times it was a no ball. Emily and Amber had a strong game when the ball came out to them in the deep field and were very accurate with their throwing. Hermione had a good game on 3rd post again this week, always being awake and ready for the ball. Madison on 4th had a good game and Alice did some lovely bowling again today as usual.

Yelena then did some great running whilst watching the ball to get herself a rounder. We ended the first innings with 8 rounders.

We didn’t know how good Walstead’s batting was going to be so we were on our toes when fielding. They got 4½ rounders

because our fielding was tight, there was some overthrown balls to each other but we reacted and recovered very well. Elise, Ami and Amber all stumped girls out today. We were very quick from backstop to first post (team Finnegan!)

We then scored 7 rounders in the 2nd innings with everyone at least scoring ½ apart form Yelena and Elise (birthday girl) who scored 1 rounder.

Well done girls, another great performance, thank you to all the supporters that come and watch every week!

Player of the match: Elise for excellent work on 2nd post!  LJ
