U10B High 5 Netball v Hurst

12th February 2016

Won 8-3

On a sunny but cold afternoon, Copthorne hosted Hurst for their high 5’s netball match. After a good warm up both teams were ready to do battle. Copthorne started the strongest, building up attacks one after the other and with some reliable shooting from Tia, taking the team into the lead, 2-1 after the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter was very quiet and uneventful, both teams unable to create many chances. The 3rd and 4th quarters were by far the most successful with some fast passes down the court and some athletic interceptions. The visiting sides C and GD were good defenders, reading the game well and intercepting poor passes. This made for some exciting netball with both teams matching goal for goal, Tali this time adding to Copthorne’ s scoreline. With the cold weather it was good to keep rotating the players off, taking turns on the side-line. This did not hinder our movement on the court; everyone supported each other and worked tirelessly. Both Tia and Tali remained on form and shared the last couple of goals in the final quarter. Well done to Tanishka for being player of the match. HP
