Again this week the Copthorne U10Bs revealed the true meaning of team work and sportsmanship. This week, the girls played against Brambletye – and looked like they had an absolute ball! Every girl played with enthusiasm and showed a good attitude towards the game.
A big thank you to Zillyan Rustom and Natalie Harrison, who both played up a year and slotted in naturally to help create a team that was quite easily matches against our Brambletye opponents.
Despite our 1-9 loss, the girls in the 1st and 2nd quarters worked tremendously as a team to keep the score at a close 2-0.
Lucy Billingham-West played a great game, ‘sticking to her player like glue’ and doing some great defending. The girls during training have been working on defending and intercepting and it was great to see Emily Smith (GK) and Ella Bain (WA) in particular exemplifying their newly extended defence skills. Well done girls!
Again – congratulations to Eloise Chirgwin and Georgina Guest who had some great intercepts!
Finally, Rebecca Bright scored our only goal of the match – and what a beautiful goal it was. Congratulations to the whole team, you were superb and played with true Copthorne spirit. LC
