This week the girls played a home match against Great Walstead. The girls were all raring to get going after such terrible conditions for the last week before half term. The girls started brilliantly with lots of hard work to bring the ball down the court, especially from Emily Workman. The girls managed to have a convincing lead of 4-0 at quarter time. The second quarter the girls started quite slowly and it wasn’t one of their best quarters but they managed to score another goal, making it 5-0 at half time. A change in the third quarter saw Hermione move to GA and Clara to C, who played extremely well here seeing this isn’t her usual position. This quarter all areas of the court played well. Emilie Lagrange and Natasha were solid in defence marking their players and getting nearly ever rebound. Madison, Clara and Rebecca worked well to bring the ball up the court. Maddie and Hermione worked well together in the circle and provided another 3 goals for the team. In the last quarter everything finally came together, all the girls marked their players hard and passed accurately to each other resulting in 5 goals in the last quarter. The ending score when the final whistle blew was 13 -1 to Copthorne.
I am immensely proud of the girls, not only for the victory but more for the way they worked together as team. KD
