A solid performance from the U10 Bs this week. In this match it was important that the simple things were well executed as the heavy rain, wind and occasional clap of thunder meant the court and ball were very slippery. Catching the ball and (holding on to it!), accurate passes and defensive marking were the focus this week. We had the majority of possession the whole game, working hard to regain the ball if lost. When Great Walstead did have the ball, through some tight marking and great pressure from all players, we held them in the centre third, very rarely allowing them to proceed to their goal third. The shooters put some beautiful shots through the hoop, making it 9-0 at half time. Versatility was played in the final half. The girls began to relax into and enjoy their new positions, but always kept up the pace and flow from the first half. I think some of the girls surprised themselves, realising if they put their mind to it they can play in any position, and play it well. Good game girls, but we still have some work to do on our footwork!!!
