U10B Netball v St. Christopher’s

20th January 2017

Despite the cold and many matches cancelled, the U10 B’s travelled down to the coast ready and keen to play netball. After a quick warm up the girls were ready to go.

Despite some good netball from our team, St Christopher’s had a very strong side and by the first quarter they had scored 5 goals. Copthorne worked hard to get the ball down to their D however the oppositions passing and interceptions were very good. By half time there score was 9-0.

After a quick pep talk and a change of players, Copthorne entered the court with renewed vigour. Our passing was stronger and we were finding better spaces than before. Our defenders worked really hard especially Kirsten and Amelie. As a result our attackers were able to get the ball down to our two shooters Ella and Ellie who were then able to shoot 5 goals.

Unfortunately we seemed to lose our momentum in the final quarter. However, the girls never gave up and worked hard to the last whistle. The girls did play a very strong team and their resilience and positive attitude is to be commended.

Well done girls. We may not have won but I truly believe that in terms of attitude and perseverance you will always be winners! I was very proud of you.
