Despite the rain back at Copthorne, Brighton was bathed in sunshine. After a quick warm up our girls were first to bat. We managed to score our first half rounder by the second batsman and soon the half rounders and rounders were being scored. Tia and Freya both made some super shots and by the end of innings all of the girls had scored.
Our fielding was fine although we were up against some very strong batters and by the end of 25 good balls Brighton and Hove had scored 8½ to our 8. As time was an issue it was decided that the girls would play a second innings but just have one bat each. Unfortunately Copthorne were not as fortunate and only 4 of our players scored half rounders each. BHHS were strong batters and they went on to score a further 9 rounders. Despite losing the game it was lovely to see them play together and support each other . A big well done to Alana who led the team and was herself voted player of the match by the opposition.
Thank you once again to parents and Mrs Toovey who helped transport the girls.
