U10B Rounders v Cumnor House – Summer 2017

14th May 2017

Great weather, a great game and a great set of girls! Well done the U10Bs you were a credit to Copthorne showing good teamwork and commitment.

Copthorne won the toss and put Cumnor into bat, they scored 7 rounders in their first innings and the same in their second. Copthorne under the captainship of Amreet scored 12 in their first innings and 9½ in their second. It was a real team effort with Amreet bowling, Ava backstop, Isabelle on first post, Charlotte on second, Lacey on third and Robin on forth. They were well backed up by Emi, Sophie and Isabella in the deep. All the girls contributed to the score with some excellent fielding and batting. I should give an extra mention to Charlotte who stumped at least five Cumnor girls on her post. Ava worked tirelessly as backstop and had a very strong throw (sometimes too strong!), when throwing back to the bowler or second post. The final score was Copthorne 21½ to Cumnor’s 14.

Well done to all the girls, it was a pleasure to umpire the match. Also well done to Emi who was chosen by the opposition as the ‘Player of the Match’.
