On a wet afternoon the boys had a new coach as well as new opposition. On a very muddy pitch and taking advantage of playing downhill the boys took a 3-1 half time lead . They spent five minutes before the game listening to captain Tom and deciding a few tactics. By posting our quickest and most elusive players on the wing it brought good results.

In the second half Hazelwood rallied and the boys had to tackle everything that moved , I was a bit nervous myself once or twice! But they held out to win by 5 tries to 4 .

The boys were a pleasure to work with showed good team spirit and showed very good basic skills during the game. One apology from myself as I made a mistake refereeing that cost Tom a try however, the boys put it to one side and got on with the game. I’m sure it may be mentioned once or twice during coaching sessions after half term.
