U11′ A’ Hockey v Great Walstead

21st October 2016

This game proved to be the girls hardest and toughest challenge to date. From the start Great Walstead set the tempo at which they wanted to play with Copthorne playing catch up and having to work really hard to keep the ball out of their defence. The score line might have reflected a one sided game but the girls stuck to their game plan and looked to pass the ball early when needed and also to attack the space.

Mallory and Emily W soaked up a lot of pressure, intercepting and tackling continuously throughout the game. Our midfields were also not allowed any time on the ball or to settle to find a rhythm. We did manage to keep a determined spirit and not once did the girls look beaten; they kept playing and were rewarded with scoring the last goal of the game. Well done to Beth for being voted player of the match.
