Once again the girls played a very competitive match and played well as a team. Unfortunately as in previous matches the ball was not given to the shooters enough times for them to be able to score goals. This was either owing to lack of movement by the shooters in the circle or excellent interceptions on the way down the court by Great Walstead. Copthorne found themselves 0–4 down in the first quarter and had only two shots on goal.
Tanishka was injured in this quarter and had to be substituted by Ruby O who played very well in a team she doesn’t normally play in. After a rest Tanishka returned in the third and fourth quarter and Emily rested in the last quarter to allow Ruby to return. Copthorne pulled the score back to 11–8 in a highly competitive last ten minutes.
The team of Emi (GK), Freya (GD), Macie (WD), Tanishka (C), Emily (WA), Tali (GA) and Tia (GS) plus Ruby O as reserve showed some very good play during the match but must now learn to hold the ball and look before throwing and to move in the circle.
