U11 Rounders v Cottesmore

13th June 2016

The U11s found themselves up against a strong Cottesmore team this week.  Despite this, though the girls fought hard and although they didn’t have the most successful first innings, they came back fighting in the second innings, especially with their batting with Jemima, Leah and Grace all scoring great rounders, with some good halves from Lila and Jemima. There was also some great rounders scored in the first innings from Emma and halves from Isabella, Emma and Cassie, totalling the U11S score to 12 ½ rounder’s today!

During both innings, although the girls fielding was not up to their normal standard, the U11’s tried their best and there was some slick bowling from Emma, who also took a catch, as well as Lila and Emily who also took catches too. Emily, Abi and Lila also worked hard between them as backstop, first post and second, resulting in them stumping a further four players out.

Despite the U11’s efforts, it was just not their day, and Cottesmore won the match proving to be the better team today. Well done to all of the U11s though today for their efforts. I am sure with more practice and no exams next week the girls should be back to their usual selves!

Player of the Match was Jemima, picked by Cottesmore and mine was Emma for her super bowling.

Jemima 2 ½, Emma 2 ½, Leah 2, Abi 1 ½, Grace 1 ½, Isabella 1, Cassie 1, Lila ½, Emily, Isabel, Abi.
