The girls took on Brambletye this week, and got a little shock when they had to work hard for the win.
The girls always seem to panic when we play indoors and this is exactly what we did. it took us 5 minutes out of 9 to relax and get into our game. Brambletye scored first and this gave the girls a shock. it was a fast game in the first 2 quarters with each team scoring off their own centre passes.
Alice had a good game as GS using the tricks that we had practiced in training and putting them into the game to confuse the Brambletye GK. Elise also got some good shots in and had good movement in the D. Amber had a tough game as GD as the Brambletye GA was very feisty and was throwing herself on the floor and bouncing straight back up!
Ami controlled the game in the middle of the court working well with Yelena and producing some lovely long balls to each other to feed straight into the shooters, another thing we had been working on in training.
Holly got stuck in again and made some lovely interceptions followed up by some good powerful throws. Madeleine had a strong game as GK making some great interceptions and good passes to get the ball into our shooting ‘D’.
The Copthorne girls had to work hard today and at times didn’t make things easy for themselves by rushing the passes and making silly mistakes. Still a very good win for the unbeaten team, just a win they had to work for! LJ
