This week I was lucky enough to witness another talented netball team in action, the U11As! Keira captained the side and did a fantastic job, also taking Cumnor’s POM, which she deserved for her tireless efforts on court today. Cumnor were a strong opposition and made the U11s work hard, both down the court and especially in the shooting circle! After Cumnor scored first from the first centre pass, the U11s fought back scoring from their centre pass levelling the score. Copthorne then began to settle more into their normal game, although Cumnor weren’t making it easy for them and there were some great interceptions on court from both our attackers and defenders. Keira really had her work cut out with Annabelle, against some tough defence but after moving and playing the ball well around the circle to Gabi and Kirsten/Charlotte, they were deservedly rewarded with some good goals. At half time the U11s were up by 4!

The U11s then went into the second half of the match just as determined and managed to score another 3 goals, with a super goal from Zara! A special mention must be said to our defence in this half (Amreet, Ava and Robin) who allowed no further goals to be scored! The end result was 9-2, which was a low scoring game, but nevertheless a good match from both sides. Well done to all the girls, you all played well as a team and played in the true spirit of the game! I look forward to continuing to work with you this season, watch this space as this is another team with great potential!
