Today’s match captained by Gabi was a very tight match. The first quarter saw Copthorne take the lead. Charlotte, Gabi and Robin fed some great balls into our shooters, and both Keira and Annabelle shot superbly well.

Marking needed to be tight as our opposition were a strong side. The second quarter was halted when one of the St Christopher’s girls took a nasty tumble. This was rather a shock for everyone there, but both teams refocused for the start of the third quarter. A neck and neck time, with Amreet and Zara doing some super defending, Copthorne managed to stay ahead. Kirsten switched positions and helped in defence in the final quarter where our shooting was fantastic to watch. A few loose balls from us showed that St Christopher’s did not give up. The final score Copthorne 16 St Christopher’s 7 looks like an easy win, in fact far from it. It was a level game from beginning to end but with Keira and Annabelle shooting so well; that was the difference between the two teams.

Well done girls! Man of the match chosen by the opposition went to Annabelle.

A special thank you to the staff and parents for their help with looking after St Christopher’s’ injured player.
