It was the last game of the season for the U11Bs also and due to injuries and illness there was some changes to the team this week. It was particularly cold however the U11Bs gave it their best shot. Simi was spectacular in goal and kept Copthorne in the match with the help of Ella and Kirsten. Lacey, Eva, Emi and Isabella had 50/50 possession for most of the first half with BHHS but unfortunately could not get the ball into the D as much as we had liked as there wasn’t anyone there on occasions! The girls realised this and started to modify their play and as a result they were rewarded with a goal from Emi to put them 1-0 up at half time!
The U11Bs went into the second half 1-0 up. Simi did some excellent keeping with Ella and Kirsten defending well. Despite chasing the ball down, the opposition scored levelling the score to 1-1. It was an even match to watch but just before the whistle the opposition scored again. The girls played well despite the loss and should be proud of their efforts. Simi was player of the first half and Ella was player of the second half. Kirsten was awarded player of the match by the opposition. Well done girls! It was lovely to see how much you have all progressed as a team over the season and it was a shame that BHHS sneaked the ball in in the last few seconds, as you at the very least deserved a draw today!
I wish you all the best for the upcoming netball season.
