U11B Netball v Ardingly – Won 11-10

A close and exciting match was held today at Ardingly for the Under 11B team.  The match was off to a great start with four goals scored by Vicky Smith and Becca Dheansa in the first quarter, giving Copthorne a two goal lead.  The second quarter saw tougher defence from Ardingly, but the Copthorne girls rose to the challenge, particularly defenders Esme Vincent and Hannah Youds.  Throughout the match, Captain Katie Parkinson shone as centre, as did Abbey Parker.  Both girls took some very impressive intercepts.  The third quarter was extremely tight, meaning the girls had to battle in the fourth quarter to stay one goal ahead.  This was achieved with the help of GD Kilti Thompson, WA Zara Everington and WD Millie Tuvey.  All girls showed real team spirit and good sportsmanship.  Ardingly chose Becca as player of the match, an excellent choice, but well done to all the girls for a great match.  As always, thank you to all the parents who came to support their children.  A super result.  JB
