U11B Netball v Hurstpierpoint – Feb 2017

10th February 2017

The U11Bs travelled to Hurst on a very cold afternoon to play their netball match. The team played extremely competitively and were only beaten by one goal in the last minute of the game. The girls used most of the court and managed to put together a succession of passes towards their shooting circle. Tia and Tali scored four goals and with a little more movement in the circle they would have had more opportunities to shoot.

Shriya and Freya did a sterling job in defence. Shriya using her height to intercept many balls heading towards the oppositions shooters. Freya worked extremely hard intercepting many passes and showing real determination. Macie, Orianne and Emily played well in the centre third and attacked and defended well.

There were many encouraging aspects of the game however it would really improve if they took their time when passing, they have three seconds! – then passes wouldn’t be wasted. Well done girls you were a credit to Copthorne. The final score was 4-5 to Hurst.
