U11B Netball v LND

17th January 2016

Lost 3-5

A slightly disappointing result as I feel we could have won this game! However, the first quarter found the U11Bs defence like rabbits in headlights! We were disorientated and LND took advantage scoring 2 goals. The score could have been a lot worse after 10 minutes, but luckily for us the LND shooters were not converting all of their chances. After a quick chat and a couple of changes, we came back out with renewed determination. Leah had a lightbulb moment and started to make some wonderful interceptions in the GD position, she also offloaded the ball well to Orianne who was having a steady game in the WD position. Hannah was all over the court in the C position, fighting for every ball and passing well into our shooters. Unfortunately we were also unable to convert all of our chances, but Tali got us off the mark with a goal scored under the post to bring the score at half-time to 1-4. Another couple of position changes saw Tia coming back into the GS position, where she was able to put us right back into the game with 2 goals and no reply from LND; it was going to be an exciting 4th and final quarter. Unfortunately, we were unable to score again and the game ended 3-5. We really must try and retain the ball better and pass to our players rather than the opposition; we often made some fabulous interceptions only to give the ball straight back!

Leah was voted player of the match by the LND girls, well done Leah! However, my player of the match was Hannah who worked her socks off for the full 20 minutes. MJ
