U11B Rounders v St Christopher’s – Won 13½-7½

Copthorne won the toss and wisely chose to field first. Although we only got 2 players out our fielding was strong enough to prevent St Christopher’s from scoring more than 2 full rounders. Our bowler Emma only gave away a few no balls which left the opposition scoring 5 rounders.

It was clear from the onset that Copthorne were keen to score and our first rounder came with our first batter Jemima, who went on to score a further 3 in that innings.

Despite St Christopher’s getting 5 of our players out, all of the team scored and we ended the first innings with 10½.

Our fielding was even better in the second half of the game. There were two great catches from Sophia and Emma. So much so that although St Christopher’s used all the good balls, they were unable to score more than 2. This meant that Copthorne had already won even though they had only batted once.

As a result a decision was made to give Copthorne a quick second innings allowing then to have one good ball each from which they scored 3 more.

Well done girls; you were brilliant. We have had a great season with just one match lost. Thanks again to all the parents who have supported us this year, through rain, wind and finally sunshine! A big thank you too to Miss Carter and Miss Jones who have coached the girls during games times. LD
