U11/U10B Rounders v Hazelwood – Lost 12½-14

This week an U10 and U11 mixed team took on Hazelwood at home in very high humidity weather.  The girls fielded first and did an excellent job. Before the game we talked about the importance of concentration and decision making and the girls took it upon themselves to displayed this, in particular Clara and Lily who worked really well together. Congratulations to Emilie Lagrange who made a cracking catch. Hazelwood managed to score 5.  Two rounders in a row from Alice Shoesmith helped to set up the team for victory. Also well done to Zoe and Emilie who also scored rounders in the first innings.

After a hotly contested first innings scores were level, 5 a piece. Hazelwood played a very good second innings. They scored 9 rounders for the innings and now it was Copthorne’s turn to fight back. The girls batted well in the second innings, special mentions go to Lily, Zoe, Clara and Natasha who all scored rounders. Good determination led to the girls scoring 7½.

It was a good effort by the girls and I am immensely proud of them. Good job girls! KD

Team: Clara Vincent, Emilie Lagrange,  Rebecca Moore-Williams, Natasha Jones , Maddie Parker, Zoe Martin, Lily Bourne,
