The Copthorne 6-a-side tournament is the final small sided competition of the season so the boys were keen to go as far as they could and possibly cause an upset. They did not have the best of starts with a humbling defeat at the hands of Ardingly. Ardingly would go on to beat Pennthorpe and Brambletye relatively comfortably and top the group. If you lose the first game it means the second one is a must win and the boys delivered. A solitary goal from Sam R, making his 1st team debut as a Year 6, was enough to claim the win and put us within touching distance of going through to the cup competition. The final group stage game was against Brambletye who we had already drawn with on 2 occasions this season. We dominated the game and created some excellent chances but the opposition keeper was in fine form. The match ended 0-0 and for the second tournament in a row we left the competition on goal difference. A bitter pill to swallow as we know we should have been playing in the cup Semi against Great Walstead.

With all games played we finished a respectable 5th place out of 8 teams. Walstead retained their title following an excellent 2-1 win over Cumnor House in the final.

Well done to the 8 boys in the squad; Austin, Charlie, Jacob, Sam R, Sam D, Ben, Liban and Joseph.
