U13 Rugby v Great Walstead

1st February 2017

If you are going to lose an unbeaten record then a game like today is probably the only time to do it. It is always a good tight game against Walstead and today was no exception. Losing captain Zac, to whom we all send our best wishes, mid way through the first half did not help. However, it did mean the rest of the boys stepped up their game. The score swung back and forth throughout the match with the final play leading to an 8-7 win to Walstead.

As with last year a draw would have been a fair result but it was not to be. There was such passion and commitment from both sides and I was proud to be associated with the team. The disappointment at the end was obvious and clearly demonstrates that these matches do mean a lot to the boys and it is good to see the senior team setting a positive example to the rest of the school.
