U8 A & B v Tavistock

U8 ‘B’

Our first away match and the boys were very excited. To our surprise Tavistock only had one side, so they kindly agreed to play twice in order to give both teams a game. The ‘B’ team started quietly and it took most of the first half before they finally started to compete. From there on in they played very well. It was great to see all of the boys being more assertive on the pitch and making good tackles. William F and Robbie E in particular had very good games and were named “Man of the Match”. Final score: Copthorne 0 v 3 Tavistock.

U8 “A”

Having watched their opponents in the first game, the “A” team boys knew who they had to look out for and what they needed to do when they had the ball. It was a very good match with lots of quality football being played. I was particularly impressed with our passing and the way we kept possession. Had it not been for the tiny goals, the score could have been considerably more. Man of the match for his great play up front was Freddie N. Final score: Copthorne 2 v 0 Tavistock.
