U8 A Netball v Lingfield Notre Dame – Feb 2017

28th February 2017

The U8s were dominant in their game against LND on Tuesday this week; controlling every area of the court. Our visitors had only been playing netball since last month and unfortunately our girls were just too strong for them.

Priya was our captain today and unfortunately lost the toss so LND started the game. It wasn’t long before Tianna intercepted a forced pass as our marking was very tight not allowing the LND girls to get free. Jasmine got us off to a good start by scoring the first 2 goals with some lovely link play between Tianna, Bella and Rachel. Priya, Anna and Ruby were solid in defence and intercepted everything that came their way. After the first quarter we were 5-0 up.

Going into the second quarter the Copthorne girls were relentless in their attack. Rachel got her eye in and was gaining confidence with every goal she scored, with quite a few from distance! Jasmine supported well and managed to score a couple under the post too. They scored 8 goals between them ending the 2nd quarter on 13-0!

A big change around occurred in the third and fourth quarters with all the girls changing positions. Tianna (2)and Anna (1) scored our goals in this quarter and Priya (2) and Bella (2) in the final quarter.

A huge well done to the LND girls whose heads never went down in this game, they fought right up until the end.

Bella was voted player of the match by the LND team, so well done Bella; but my player of the match has to go to Rachel for her superb shooting and all round court play today. Well done Rachel!

Thank you to our supporters.

Team: Priya (Capt), Tianna, Bella, Rachel, Jasmine, Anna and Ruby
