U8 ‘B’ Netball v Caterham

15th November 2016

The U8’s played against Caterham during their games lesson on Tuesday, Eloise was the Captain. The game was played in good spirit and the teams were very evenly matched. The Copthorne girls settled quickly and there was some good linking play from Samantha, Sophie and Eloise. Evie was making some lovely moves off the ball but the Caterham team had very tall defence players and our attack broke down with very good interceptions time and time again. However Sophie manged to get the ball into the D but was unable to convert her shot. The two GD players on both sides were instrumental in changing the direction of the play and there were very few chances for both teams.

This was the story of the whole match and although I feel that the Copthorne girls had the lions share of possession a lot of the time, we needed to pass the ball more quickly and be more aware of our positions on the court.

My stand out players were Sophie for her energy and aggression when picking up loose ball and Pippa for her excellent interceptions as GD.

Eloise was voted Player of the match by the Caterham girls. Well done Eloise!

Team: Eloise (Capt), Sophie, Pippa, Samantha, Evie, Zara, Ivy-May, Emily & Paige
