U8 Netball v Ardingly – Won 9-2

This week the girls took on Ardingly, playing two 15 minute halves. After the toss we had the first centre pass and the girls were up for a tough match.

The match started off evenly with Ardingly having the first opportunity to score, however Copthorne won the ball back playing with determination, with Alice Renshaw scoring the first goal. After this goal the Copthorne shooters were on fire! This half saw some really impressive goals from both Yelena Finnegan and Alice Renshaw taking the score at half time to 6-0. The girls played thinking about their space and passes, making sure every ball counted. The defence were strong making lots of important interceptions and picking up all loose balls. There was also some fantastic passing into the circle from Amalia Finnegan and Hermione Ashbee.

In the second half the shooters were tackling wind and a very tall defence, however they didn’t give up and were solid in both their attacking and defensive play. Once again Amber Buggins and Elise Fry were key in defence making lots of interceptions. The final score finished 9-2 to Copthorne.

Thank you to all the girls who played  and a big thank you to the supporters who were cheering on the team from the side line.

Another set of fantastic results girls…Well Done!!  HC
