U8 Netball v Great Walstead & Tavistock & Summerhill

This week the girls played versatility matches against Great Walstead and Tavistock and Summerhill. They got into the team spirit and supported each other throughout which was lovely to see.

The first match was against Great Walstead, who had the first centre pass. Copthorne got off to a great start and the first half finished 2-0 to us, with both goals being score by Yelena Finnegan. In the second half all girls played a different position. Alice Renshaw and Clara Vincent played fantastically in defence while Amalia Finnegan and Madeleine Liu supported each other well in the circle. We had an amazing goal from Amalia Finnegan with Yelena linking the ball well and passing accurately in to the shooters. The final score was 5-1 to Copthorne. Well Done girls!

In the second match against Tavistock the girls switched around their positions once more. This match saw some beautiful linking play around the centre court, with Yelena and Amalia Finnegan, Hermione Ashbee and Elise fry all passing well and getting into space. Amber Buggins played well throughout and shot some great goals, however the goal of the match came from Amalia. The final score was 7-0 to Copthorne.

The girls showed today that they can play any position and are able to adapt and adjust themselves. Well done, a fantastic set of results girls!  Thank you to all the supporters and the girls who played so well as a team.  HC
