‘B’ Team.

The ‘B’ team had a magnificent match against Brambletye. Playing six-a-side, the boys showed great positional play and used the width of the field to their advantage. It was very pleasing to see the boys passing the ball and running straight at the opposition. Player of the Match was Jerome G. He unselfishly set up 3 tries for his team mates and had a hand in most of the attacking moves. All in all it was a fantastic game and a great way to finish the season. Well done boys. Final score: Copthorne 8 v Brambletye 4.

‘A’ Team.

With the pressure on after our last two defeats (and the fact that the B’s had won only minutes earlier) the boys needed to start positively and take advantage of the larger field. It was a tense match for the first half, with the two teams going blow for blow. It was tied at 4 a piece at half time. Into the second half, the boys found their defensive form and managed to stop two strong Brambletye attacks. The resulting turn overs lead to our best two tries of the season. One try in particular went the length of the field and was handled by 5 different players! It was an exciting match, played in good spirit. Player of the Match was Evan P. for his very good ball distribution throughout the game. Final score: Copthorne 9 v Brambletye 7. An excellent finish to the season.

A BIG thank you must go out to all the parents who have supported their boys throughout the season.
