U8A Football v Pennthorpe

20th October 2017

This week was a change of scenery for the under 8’s by playing at home for only the second time all season. They played on the large pitches to the front of school which suddenly looked a lot bigger when only 6 boys were on them. They worked hard throughout the first half but found themselves behind after a good run from the Pennthorpe main player. We struck back almost straight away with Harry A scoring nicely from the edge of the box.

At half time we agreed that we needed to pass the ball a lot firmer on the big pitch and make the ball do all the moving to save our legs. This worked well with Leo making a few good runs and passes along the wing. We broke the deadlock when Taran scored from the edge of the box with a neatly placed goal. The icing was put onto the cake when Taran played a solid pass into Harry who took the ball on the turn and slotted the ball past their impressive goalkeeper.

With a few changes we finished the game strong winning 3-1.
