After the long journey to Hove, the girls were keen and raring to go! It was clear from the start that this was going to be another one-sided game. The Copthorne girls dominated the play in all areas of the court and their passing was quick and slick; too quick for the opposition! After the first quarter Sienna and Clara had scored 4 goals with no reply. Ann and Camillia supported the attack well and Ann was intercepting brilliantly. Maryam. Melia and Cassia stood firm in defence and were rarely troubled by any attack on their goal.

During the second quarter we only scored 2 goals as we lost our shape with unnecessary calling for the ball and a lot of crowding going on. So after a team talk at half-time the girls worked hard on their positional play and it worked like a dream, as we increased our lead to 10-0. Credit should go to the BHHS team as they never gave up and fought to the end, with their GA scoring a long distance goal in the fourth quarter to end the game 12-1. An outstanding first term of netball for this group of girls, they have huge potential and I look forward to seeing them progress further when we continue with our netball next term.

Congratulations to Sienna for being voted player of the match by the BHHS team, and a special mention to Ann for her excellent intercepting and speedy play around the court today. Thank you parents for once again braving the cold weather to support the team!
