U8A Netball v Brambletye

29th January 2016

Won 6-1

The U8s were really fired up for this game!

Ella was our captain today, and unfortunately lost the toss for the first centre pass. However, it wasn’t long before the ball was turned over and Ella scored our first goal. We held onto our centre pass and quickly went into a 2-0 lead. Harley had a fabulous contest with her partner in the centre position; both challenging for every ball and looking to get into space quickly to move the ball down to each other’s shooters. We ended the first quarter on top when Biba scored our 3rd goal with a great shot from distance.

The second and third quarters were evenly matched with all the girls working hard to retain possession. Both sets of shooters had several chances, but Ella scored the only goal in the second quarter.

The final quarter was cut down to 5 minutes as there were 2 other matches scheduled to be played after us. The U8s didn’t waste any time and put the game out of Brambletye’s reach with a further 2 goals to end the match 6-1.

I was extremely impressed with the unselfish play between our shooters today, some lovely little passes in the D to get into the best possible position to score. Good work girls!

A special well done to our defence of Danni, Victoria and especially Daisy (who was not feeling very well); they worked really hard to keep the ball from entering their D and the scoreline shows just how well they did!

Huge congratulations to Harley who, quite rightly, was voted player of the match by the Brambletye girls.

Well done team; still unbeaten! Ella (Capt), Biba, Harley, Layla, Ffion, Danni, Daisy, Victoria, Isobel. MJ
