U8A Tag Rugby v Lancing Prep

22nd January 2016

On a very narrow and muddy pitch, the U8A put in another good performance against a strong Lancing side. The game was played at a tremendous pace all the way through despite the challenging conditions and some excellent rugby was played by both teams. The score advantage constantly changed hands throughout the game with neither side being able to pull away from the other. All the boys had a good game. Pranav, Rafe and Ollie made some excellent runs. These were backed up with some excellent tagging from James and Josh. Dylan was as consistent as ever making good runs and always tried to be in support of the runner with the ball. It was difficult to find space on such a narrow pitch but this forced the boys to run straight with the ball, something they will have to get used to as they play more rugby throughout the school.

With the boys one score down and time running out, some excellent passing saw them edge closer and closer to the try line and eventually cross over to make the final score a very entertaining 9-9. Thanks to all the parents for their excellent support and to all the boys who are getting better every week that they play. Keep it up! CC
